Mandatory PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT

When working in a workshop or in outdoor areas, the following must be used:

  • WORK CLOTHES
  • SAFETY SHOES
  • VISIBILITY VEST marked with VISITOR or your company name

Guests who are going on a tour must at least wear a visibility vest and safety shoes. Hearing protection and safety glasses are used if necessary.

This is available in the guest cloakroom.

Safety glasses/face shields are required in marked areas and at:

  • Handling of rotating tools, open machines, shavings or dust.
  • High pressures e.g. hydraulics, compressed air and flushing.
  • Handling of chemicals, including cleaning agents.
  • Direct contact with live parts or electrical installations.
  • Risk of radiation, e.g. from welding or laser.

Hearing protection is required within marked noise zones.

Noise from machines, tools and equipment can sometimes occur in areas outside noise zones. Use hearing protection if necessary. Remember to notify others before starting noisy work tasks.

NB! Music/radio is only permitted in risk-assessed areas.

Respiratory protection must be used to prevent exposure in the event of lack of/insufficient ventilation.

In confined spaces, oxygen needs must also be assessed and SJA carried out.

A helmet must be used when work takes place on several levels at the same time.

Gloves must be used when handling parts with sharp edges or hot surfaces, live parts/electrical systems, grinding dust and chemicals.

Use gloves adapted to the work you are performing.

Lifejacket must be used when working along the quayside or when using an open boat.
