On 24 September, IMO and the global maritime community come together to celebrate the annual World Maritime Day. The 2020 theme is "Sustainable Shipping for a Sustainable Planet".

As part of the maritime industry, Framo wants to contribute to sustainable shipping and be a part of the solution.

Framo needs to keep innovation and sustainable development in mind at all times. And as an international supplier finding solutions to help our customers reduce their environmental impact, our sustainability efforts can also have ripple effects globally.

In Framo, we are conscious of the carbon footprint of our factories and workshops. For more than 15 years, Framo has monitored the footprint from our production by focusing on recycling. Our workshops have achieved a material recycling rate of 87%. Our production premises are located at the water’s edge, enabling our deliveries to be transported directly by ship.  

Upgrading skills, reducing the footprint from production, and using both systems and machinery to make the working day more efficient are at the heart of Framo. All decisions in Framo’s processes are based on the priorities sustainability, quality, delivery and cost  

The key factor in ensuring sustainable development is realising that we cannot be complacent about what we have achieved but must always look at how things can be done even better.
